Congressional Tweet Index Percentage of Negative Tweets by Party
Loading Congressional Tweet Index
The Congressional Tweet Index is a metric created here at PolitickerUSA.com to track and measure the sentiment of our elected officials on Twitter. The index is calculated by dividing the number of negative tweets, tweeted by each party, divided by the total number of tweets.
CRI = (Negative Tweets) / (Total Number of Tweets)The direction of each tweet was assigned algorithmacally using sentiment analysis techniques. Also, the direction "measures" the complaining or whining in the tweet, not the political content of the tweet. For the nerds of the group, read here for the specifics.
